Acadia Healthcare this week announced that it has formed a joint venture with Covenant Health to build a new behavioral healthcare facility in Knoxville, Tennessee, expanding treatment services in the eastern part of the state.
Construction on a 90-bed hospital is slated to begin later this year, with an opening planned for 2021. The facility will have the potential to add another 48 beds at a later date to meet future demand for inpatient services.
The new hospital will provide care for adults, seniors and adolescents who struggle with mental health disorders and substance use disorders. It will also serve as a care coordination “hub” for a continuum of inpatient and outpatient services, partial hospitalization, services for neuromodulation, and medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders.
