Four Southern California addiction treatment centers were raided by federal agents last week as part of a criminal probe, according to an Orange County Register report. Agents searched the following California facilities:
- Malibu California Drug Treatment Center, Inc. (doing business as Inspire Malibu in Agoura Hills)
- Progressive Recovery Solutions (Victory Detox Center, North Hollywood)
- BLVD Centers, Inc. (BLVD-Sawtelle, Los Angeles)
- Reflections Recovery (Reflections Recovery, Santa Ana)
The reasons for the searches, contained in probable-cause affidavits, were filed under seal in federal court, and the FBI declined to comment further, the Register reports.
The raids come as California lawmakers are attempting to crack down on unethical practices by addiction treatment center operators in the state. Four bills passed by the California legislature—addressing standards of care, rehabilitation housing, misleading marketing and insurance schemes—currently await the signature of Gov. Gavin Newsom.
