Kolmac Outpatient Recovery Centers on Thursday announced that it has acquired BioCare Recovery, an addiction treatment center in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
BioCare provides outpatient treatment in the form of medication-assisted treatment and individual therapy. Under Kolmac, the facility will continue to provide these services, with plans to soon add intensive outpatient and continuing care groups. Kolmac’s founder and chief innovation officer, George Kolodner, MD, developed the nation’s first IOP program in 1973.
As part of the acquisition, BioCare founder and executive director Andrew Vitullo will become vice president of development for Kolmac, working to integrate the two brands’ treatment models while continuing to expand Kolmac’s portfolio. The company said in a news release announcing the deal that it is actively seeking more opportunities for expansion beyond its current footprint, which covers Washington D.C. and Maryland.
“This is just the beginning of Kolmac’s expansion into new communities,” Kolmac CEO Wayne Sensor said in the news release. “The program has a great treatment model and respected reputation that our team is excited to bring to new locations. Our goal is to reach as many patients as possible, and this expansion will allow us to do that.”
