The National Alliance on Mental Illness has announced that Daniel H. Gillison Jr. has been appointed as the organization’s next CEO, effective Jan. 21.
Gillison has spent the past seven years in leadership positions with not-for-profit organizations, first with the National Association of Counties and most recently as executive director of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation. Gillison also has private sector experience, having worked with Xerox, Sprint and Nextel.
Gillison was selected for the position following a search process led by a NAMI board of directors search committee, with an assist from Bridge Partners, an executive search firm.
NAMI is a national group that provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness to help individuals and families affected by mental illness.
