Two members of the Psych Congress Steering Committee have been featured on an ABC News podcast which grew out of a newsman's newfound interest in meditation.
Psych Congress cochair Charles Raison, MD, and Steering Committee member Vladimir Maletic, MD, MS, spoke with ABC News correspondent Dan Harris for his "10% Happier" podcast. Drs. Raison and Maletic cowrote The New Mind-Body Science of Depression, a book published earlier this year.
Their conversation covered the book as well as several of the most-discussed issues in psychiatry today, such as meditation, depression, and psychedelics.
Harris was led to meditation after having a panic attack live on Good Morning America in 2004. In the years since, he wrote the book 10% Happier, started the "10% Happier: Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics" app, and the weekly podcast.
