The Menninger Clinic announced that Armando E. Colombo has been named as its new president and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 16. He succeeds C. Edward Coffey, MD, who has led the Menninger Clinic for three years.
Colombo brings 30 years of experience to the role, most recently having served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sheppard Pratt Health System for the past two years. At Sheppard Pratt, Colombo was responsible for implementing operational strategies and assisting with quality of care initiatives. Menninger Clinic also credited his experience “in diversifying financially affordable options for people with psychiatric and addictive disorders” in announcing the hire.
Based in Houston, Menninger Clinic diagnoses and treats people with complex mental illnesses, offering a range of outpatient, community-based, comprehensive diagnostic, and hospital services for people with psychiatric and addictive disorders.
