Psych Congress cochair Charles Raison, MD, recently discussed his research and perspectives in an extensive interview with Rhonda Perciavalle Patrick, PhD, who runs the FoundMyFitness website.

The nearly 2-hour interview spanned several topics, including the body's immune system, chronic inflammation, the brain-body connection in depression, and whole body hyperthermia as a treatment for major depression. 

Dr. Raison is the Mary Sue and Mike Shannon Chair for Healthy Minds, Professor, School of Human Ecology, and Professor, Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine and Public Health, at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Patrick, a published researcher, was trained in biomedical science and biochemistry/chemistry.
