JourneyPure acquires Questhouse

With the new acquisition of Questhouse, a 21-bed treatment center located in Bowling Green, Ky., JourneyPure  boosts its residential and outpatient capacity. JourneyPure currently operates residential and outpatient centers in Murfreesboro, Tenn., as well as two residential facilities in Florida. The Questhouse addition will allow it to draw more potential clients from the Midwest.

“Questhouse is an established provider of addiction treatment services, and our JourneyPure team is proud to have Questhouse join our family of addiction treatment operations,” Kevin Lee, president and CEO of JourneyPure, tells Behavioral Healthcare. “The organization serves individuals who struggle with drug and/or alcohol addiction, and services are tailored to each individual’s needs.”

Among its services, Questhouse offers a professionals program that treats physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, lawyers and others. Its women’s program takes natural hormonal shifts and relationship factors into consideration, according to the organization, and the 12-Step model and spiritual focus are part of all the programs.

According to Kevin Taggart, principal with Mertz Taggart, which represented Questhouse in the deal, the center’s founder, Russ Hopper—who is in long-term recovery—was preparing to retire after operating the facility for more than 10 years. Taggart says Questhouse has a good reputation in the community, and the operations have been run well.

In fact, Hopper last year received the Kentucky board’s Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor of the Year Award.

“The Questhouse acquisition gives JourneyPure another alternative that’s close to headquarters,” says Taggart.
